Congratulations to the Cedarville EAST Program for winning First Place in the Arkansas Historic Preservation film competition. The competition honors documentaries made by high school students about any historic site in the state. Working with Park Ranger, Pat Schmidt, EAST students produced a short documentary on the Fort Smith National Historic Site and Judge Isaac C. Parker, “The Hanging Judge.” The students received $150 transportation stipend to attend the award ceremony and screening of the winning films. The event will be held at the Ron Robinson Theater in Little Rock on May 11. Awards are $100/team, individual certificates, a trophy and possible inclusion at the Hot Springs Film Festival. Video team members include; Bailie Murphy, Sierra Odom, Maddy Armer, Allie Franklin, Devyn Ruiz, Kaelyn Church, Kara Dickens, McKenna Welbern, Jason Swaim, Halea Carter, Harlie Hightower, Lanie Stockton, and Whittnie Hernandez. Manuel Galdamez created the music for the film. The film may be viewed on the school home page under Parent/Community.
Cedarville High School and the Cedarville FFA would like to congratulate Senior Eli Koonce for being selected to receive the Arkansas Foundation Scholarship. Way to go Eli!!
We would also like to congratulate Juniors Derick Jones, James Rosson, and RJ Pope for being selected to receive their State FFA Degree.
Along with the scholarship and degrees being awarded, we are also excited to announce that our very own FFA Chapter received a Gold ranking for the national chapter award in the state!
Way to go Cedarville FFA members and FFA teacher Courtney Smith on all of your hard work!! PPRD!!!!
Congratulations to Junior Bailey Odom and Seniors Sierra Odom and Bailie Murphy for placing 4th at the FBLA State Competition for Website Design. By placing 4th they are now advancing to the FBLA National Competition which will be held June 27 – July 3, 2016 in Atlanta, Georgia! Way to go girls! PPRD!!
On April 15, 2016, Dr. Jim Cox and Dr. Dan Foreman were awarded the Patriot Award from our very own Lisa Butler, Choir Director for Cedarville Public Schools and a member of the 106th Army Band of the Army National Guard. The Patriot Award reflects the efforts made to support Citizen Warriors through a wide-range of measures including flexible schedules, time off prior to and after deployment, caring for families and granting leaves of absence if needed. Dr. Cox and Dr. Foreman were both nominated by Mrs. Butler for their continued support of her throughout the years while serving our country. Congratulations Dr. Cox and Dr. Foreman, job well done! Mrs. Butler, we all want to say a big THANK YOU to you for your service in the Army National Guard, 106th Army Band!
